lyrics

JAIMY
Back in the olden days, when bugs were fucking awesome
An ant and a grasshopper lived on the same street

LIAM
Nearby were golden meadows
That had flowers all across 'em
In the summer they would blossom
So the bugs had lots to eat

ISABEL
Now
The ant was smart and he knew winter was a-comin'
So he gathered seeds as he felt the cold approach

ARI
The grasshopper said "Fuck that shit!"
Kept playing games and hummin'
Spent his lazy hours bummin'
Soggy roaches off a roach

ALL
He sang
I'd rather die a stoner in the summer
Than a forward-looking loner in the fall
Cuz if I can't find a way
To enjoy myself today
Why should I care about tomorrow at all?

(Dialogue)

JT
The frosty winter put an end to all the laughter
The grasshopper starved as he sang his final song
The ant, warm in his house, had piled food to every rafter...
Still he died the morning after.
Ants don't live for very long.

JAIMY/LIAM/ARI
The moral of the story is that life goes fuckin' quick
Don't try to plan ahead because you can't

ALL
And don't be a hardworking, seed-hoarding, pencil-pushing dick

JAIMY
Like the ant!

OTHERS
Like the ant!

ALL
Like the ant!

I'd rather die a stoner in the summer
Than a forward-looking loner in the fall
Cuz if I can't find a way
To enjoy myself today
Why should I care about tomorrow at all?

(Dialogue)

JAIMY
The moral of the story? Stick with friends! You'll be all right!
And live life to the fullest till it stops!
So let's give a shout-out

ALL
To the grasshopper!

JAIMY
And honor him tonight!

JOHNSON (holding up a joint)
Here's the grass!

ALL
Yeah the grass!

JT (with a beer)
And the hops!

ALL
Chug the hops!!!

I'd
Rather die a stoner in the summer
Than a forward-looking loner in the fall
Cuz if i can't find a way
To enjoy myself today
Why should I care about tomorrow
(Why should I care about tomorrow)
Why should I care about tomorrow
At all!!!
